Re: 147 Drivers door replacement
Paul, a car of your age in Rosso could be a nightmare trying to match colourwise, as I'm sure you know. I was in exactly the same boat as you a couple of years ago, but with a rear door. Ideally, try to find a door at a breakers, from a car the same age as yours. I was lucky enough to get a perfect match, they fitted it for me too for £100 all in. All I had to do was change over the interior trim when I got home because mine is grey and the new door was tan.
I'm afraid I can't remember the name of the breakers, but it was in Notts! You can do a search online though, you'll find places, no probs. Check out ebay too.
One tip though, when you find a door, get them to email you pictures to check the condition of the door and don't have them post it to you. I did this initially and the door was damaged by a gormless Courier. It then took me 4 weeks and a load of phone calls to get the breakers to claim on the delivery insurance and get the money, then send it to me! Also, the only way you'll know if the colour match is good, is to have the doors next to each other. Bite the bullet when you think you have found a good'un, and drive to the yard.
Best of luck!
