One of the critical issues with water pump is steel impeller. The plastic ones can end up spinning on the shaft and causing over heating issues. Not sure how much this applies to the 2.4 though it is a common problem on a lot of models.
For parts in no particular order:-
If you are buying suspension parts (you will eventually; top wishbones squeak, bottom wishbones clunk and the anti roll bar clonks and is felt under your feet) do NOT buy cheap as they will not last 4,000 miles but stick with one of the suppliers above.
The 2.4 is a heavy lump and shocks eventually get very weak. the handling can be transformed with new shocks.
And being a 10V get it re-mapped. It is the best money you will ever, ever, ever spend on this car. No DPF so you may as well have an Angel tuning map. If you can afford it a Q2 limited slip diff goes very well with a remap.
