Thanks for your feedback. Congrats on your 147 Selespeed purchase. The one I test drove appears to be in very good condition and well maintained. For some reason, the owner doesn't have or can't find his service records book.
Nevertheless, the owner had been diligent with his servicing and repairs with the local Alfa dealer so I managed to obtain a copy of the service history from the computer database.
It looks like all the servicing was done on schedule and the cam belts were changed recently (5k ago). I had the Alfa dealer do a complete presale inspection and diagnostic with the Examiner as well.
The Airbag fault light, ABS failure light, and Brake Light failure would not go off until it was reset by the Examiner. Thereafter, only the Airbag light and Brake Light failure came back. The Gremlins in this car are very active here
I'm thinking the Airbag sensor or cable connection under the driver seat could be the culprit and for the brake light, a blown bulb somewhere. Will check those again with the workshop before I finalize the purchase.
One thing I noticed during the test drive was that the Selespeed gear change from 1st to 2nd gear in CITY Mode involved a bit of a jerk/lunge. Higher gear changes were fine. Did you observe this in your car? I read that this is the characteristic of the Selespeed and will take some time to learn and adjust by lifting off the paddle during gear changes.
Best of luck with your 147 and please keep us posted as time goes by. Take care!
