147 JTd mjet Center decat experience
Finally got around to making up a decat pipe for the center catalytic converter.
The exhuast is straight through from the turbo to back muffer.
- Big difference in turbo lag, almost zero, power delivery is much more smooth throughout the rev range, decent power from 1500rpm which was alot less before.
- Mpg is up, quite easily cruising at 50mph at 70-80mpg , Trip average is 64 mpg over last 1200miles ~only last 100 or so with decat..
- Weight saving about 3-4Kg.
- No big difference in sound
Downside, slightly more visible dust on hard acceleration when not hot.
Pulls like a train, no noticable drop in torque up to 4K.
1.9 JTD M-Jet 16v 140ps.
Gas flowed head, Polished valves, Port matched manifolds, New Turbo.
JS-T primary Decat, MrZ full-bore Center Decat , Oil recirc tank, Big filter conversion.
