look below the handle but above the door pocket and you will find a small screw, undo that and prize the unit out. Its sort of hidden in the overhang of the contoured door trim.

Help one question just answered ;)

Good day all !
just bought a 03 147… being a diehard volvo/old MG owner, i have NO knowledge of Alfas whatsoever…
i DO know the cam belt is due in about 5000km (91km now) so i have time for that…
does just the belt need replacing or everything ?
valve job requirement/frequency ?
parts seem scarce here in NZ, so I'm' using (US) ebay… so far so good there. but i can see spending $$ down the road :/

anyhoo, wish me luck and do keep them running

Also have a look at the UK based suppliers, eb spares alfaworkshop for parts
If you want to keep it going Yes you change cambelt, idler and tensioner, possibly variator if it's never had one. Water pump, Also change the balance belt and check to see if the balance belt tensioner is ok
Check auxiliary belt at the same time.
Plus make sure who ever is doing it they use the correct cam locking tools. Cambelt replacement Interval is 60000 km or 3 years which ever comes first.
