I have a strange one at the moment on my GT.
If I use cruise control at any point during the day, sometime not long after my engine will go in to limp mode. This can be cruise enabled or just the cruise switch on before I actually set the speed.
It is fixed by stopping, turning the engine off and restarting, sometimes twice. Basically a reset.
I think I have traced the fault to the clutch pedal switch and my local Alfa specialists found a clutch switch fault in the ECU so I will be swapping the switch as soon as I can. I have not used cruise in two weeks now and the problem has not come back.
So can anyone think why limp mode would kick in and has anyone else come across this?
I suppose we could just put this down as "it's Italian", but I would like to know why this happens so if anyone can shed light on the matter, that would be ace. Cruise is really handy with the silly average speed cameras that now plague Scotland.
