I take full responsibility for the mods....
but was not expecting another £500 on flywheel turbo hose and salve cylinder...
I am very capable with a spanner and do the normal stuff myself but the clutch quaife and flywheel are beyond my reach because of the need for
1) a warm safe space to work
2) a second car
3) specialist tools.
autolusso in bournmouth have looked after me very nicely, I ma very happy with the service and price but when you come down expecting to spend £1600 and end up spending £2075 its not funny!
not their fault at all and the prices are very fair for the work being done, i'm just annoyed that alfa can't mke a clutch or flywheel that will last longer than 80k..
remember i have only just bought the car at 75k so the state of it is down to previous owners, and sub standard parts..
in comparison I have a Z3 1.9 which I heavily Modded and abused at every opportunity...track days the lot and at 136k she is more reliable than the alfa...flywheel good, clutch good, dyno'd at 170BHP and the mech reckons the drivetrain could take 200+ EASILY...electrics faultless and niggle free, interior trim looks as good as the day it rolled out of the (american) factory.
come on alfa a car on half the mileage and age should not present with these kinds of issues...
I am having a major sense of humour failure though, I expect normal service to be resumed a few days after open wallet surgery.
