Clutch or brake cylinder
I've been losing a small amount of fluid over the past few weeks and have a spongey brake pedal and clutch pedal is firm and effective. So my first suspicion was the the brake master cylinder was malfunctioning.
Knowing I was going to have to fix/have fixed at some point I thought I'd look for the best prices on the part.
I approached an Alfa specialist (with a good reputation) and he asked why I needed a brake master cylinder, I gave him the symptoms and he said to check the clutch slave first because it was very rare for the brake cylinders to fail.
I didn't think to ask at the time, but surely if the clutch cylinder had failed, would I not get a spongey clutch pedal and/of crunchy changes?
