Hi, I was directed to your thread by a friend as it is I that is selling the Alfa mentioned. The car was indeed in a pretty poor state when I bought it, I was well and truly sold up the river by the previous owner, I travelled 600 miles on false information, within a week I had found massive play on both front wheels, a very heavy clutch, bad tracking and very slow to turn over. Hence the amount of work I have had done on it, I bought it for 3k and spent another 1k within a month. The car is not perfect but I am not claiming it to be, I have made this clear in my advert but it is a damn sight better and a real pleasure to drive, it is not my first Alfa Romeo and wont be my last.
I fully expect to take a loss selling my car, but it is a genuine reason for sale, I move house the day the auction ends and if I am fortunate enough to sell it, the new owner will see this and know I am genuine, I picked up a cheap little clio today to tide me over a year until a can get another nice motor.
I only came on here to clear my name, I do not want anybody thinking I am fleecing them, I understand the concern and I would be cautious too but that is the last thing I would want to do. I hope this eases a few minds/clears things up.
