Re: wanna change a light bulb on a GT?!
Just trying to answer "Shiny Car"'s question about high beam Xenons:
I have an Alfa GT with original Xenon lights, and those "xenon units" are on low beam all the time, while the halogen high beam bulbs light up in addition when the high beam is on.
On my other car, a SAAB 9-5 with original Bi-Xenons, the same thing happens, but in addition some mechanical "low beam shields" or "shutters" in front of the Xenon-units slide up so that the Xenon-units also have a full high beam pattern in addition to the high beam pattern from the halogen bulbs. In other words, the same Xenon "bulb" or "unit" is used to produce both a high and a low beam light pattern. There is just a shield in front of it when on low beam. The shield moves up and down in a blink of a second when toggling between low and high beam.
