2.0 16v TS timing belt change concern?
I have the engine out of my car and so have changed clutch, balance belt and cambelt.
I may be stressing over nothing but when I put the new cambelt on I am struggling to get the pointer on the cambelt tensioner to line up with the marker hole. The pointer actually moves backwards when I am turning the engine over with my ratchet at the point where you overcome the compression stroke but then it moves back again when turning the engine against its compression stroke. Is this normal. As far as I can see its timed correctly (DTI Guage and cam locks used). There is no knocking or massive resistance when turning the engine over. I'm just worried as cambelts I have done previously have always had timing marks.
