Gearbox reconditioning

My gearbox is becoming stiff and clunky. Thinking of getting it reconditioned - can anyone recommend anywhere in midlands area?

Before you go to the expense of a gearbox rebuild check the condition of the gearchange linkage!

I'd suggest an oil change as well

Indeed. If the gears go in and don't pop out then the gearbox is okay.
So long as it doesn't whine too much.

Checking the condition of the gearbox bushes on the lever, doing a gearbox oil change (The forgotten oil in most cars) and making sure those parts are lubed and well will make a huge difference to your gear changes.
