Replacing CF3 with CF2 engine (156)
Hello, I'm in the process of swapping an engine in my 156, it's a 2.0TS being put into an 1.8TS car. But probably more importantly, it's a CF2 engine being put into a CF3 car. I've tried search a bit around, finding several posts and replies, but they seem to be a bit inconsitent.
Since it's an electric throttle I need to keep the cars ECU and throttle, and discard the engines old. Good thing is I assume this lets me keep all immobilizer as is. Because I then have the CF3 ECU, I assume I need to keep the manufoil of the new car so that the ECU will have all its 3 CATs? And also move over all the wiring on the engine to fit the ECU.
Will I also need to replace the coil? I read somewhere that they are different, What about starter, alternator, MAF and other electronic equipment and sensors? The new engine is already assembled, and unlike the parts of the engine that will be replaced, I know all electronic components worked. So I'd like to avoid moving over, if they are the same.
