Well just got home after a drive from my girlfriends in east sussex to Wiltshire. Left at midnight and arrived home in the early hours. Nothing like having the roads to yourself and time to enjoy your car.
I really have got the car how i want her. Every aspect of the GT has been carefully covered over the last 8 months of ownership, and the journey has been educational at every stage.
As a package i am really pleased with what i have achieved with my coupe. I tried my best to educate myself on every aspect and to choose quality performance upgrades every step of the way. Obviously with help from Ned at Autolusso, knowing how fussy i am lol.
The car has exceeded my expectations. Its bloody awesome right now. Yes i have spent a bit, but hell its really been worth it. I knew what the GT was capable of, having previously owned a modified 2004 JTD. And having regretted selling it, and had been planning my comeback to GT ownership for quite a while before acquiring my present example.
The way the car puts down its power is really impressive. The hybrid turbo and latest map tweak since fitting the FMIC last week, have really brought the capabilities of the new turbo to light. Plus i have to give credit to Autolusso, and Waynes map on my car. Its so linear and seamless, with so much grunt. You really feel the hybrids ability to give more power much higher up the rev range, with hardly any tail off, its so addictive.
I just also fitted 8.5x19 inch multi spokes with 235/35/19 conti sport contact tyres and the grip is so much better than the pirelli's. Its bloody mesmerising how far you can push the car before traction is broken even on a greasy surface. The q2 diff obviously helping but the new rubber really helped matters? If you love driving and you modify your car, the q2 diff is an absolute must. The difference compared to my old non q2 GT is considerable. Leaving roundabouts she just hunkers down and goes, you can just plant the power down so early, and everything is personified with the latest power increase, its so bloody fun.
"Who thought diesels could be this bloody fun"
