To be honest Avocet, I'm sceptical too for the reasons you've mentioned, but just reading the article doesn't give me the impression these people are out to trick everyone into thinking having an undertray makes that much difference. I mean, did they wake up one morning and think:
"You know what, we should write a massive article and waste a weekend doing graphs and roadtests and take photos and spend hours on the road and a couple of tanks of fuel to see if we can make everyone tape cut out bits of plastic sign to the bottom of their cars!"
I mean, what would be in it for them if they really are just making up the results of their undertray experiment. But then, if it does work, why didn't Toyota do it in the first place?
