Right, I took the alfa in this morning to simply alfas in Stourbridge. Had a great week in the sun last week so was due some punishment for enjoying myself so much
My coolant leak is actually coming from the pipes leading to the heater matrix which are unfortunately for me at the back of the engine, so a minimum 4 hour job to change £28 pipes
It looks as though the previous owner stuck in some radweld to patch it up, so that's not good either.
Next up was an oil leak. This turns out to be seals in the engine block not put in correctly when the engine was rebuilt last year due to camel failure
. So a big welcome back to alfa ownership for me
. They're going to change the spark plugs whilst their replacing the seals to bring the bill up to £600 plus vat
to simply alfa who have lent me a 147 until it's done which should be next week hopefully.
p.s are the plastics in the 147gta as poor as the standard 147? Also 49.3mpg average on this one being a jtd, so should claw back the majority on fuel over the next week lol
