After several years of an alfa enthusiast friend of mine expounding views on the greatness of alfa, I've succumbed to the individuality and style of alfa and bought a 3.5-4 year old 147. So far I am well happy
However, there are a few niggles as to be expected with a used car. The independant where I bought the car is still waiting for the driver side window electronic unit/switch and I can't open the windows or boot until the part gets in this week!
Apart from that I've had the following niggles:
1) The black plastic cover/shield underneath the engine near the wheel on the passenger side was hanging down. Tried to look how it should be attached and it appeared to need an M6 bolt but the old bolt seems to have sheared off as I can feel something slightly recessed in the hole. As the car is parked on the road it's difficult to get under the car and see. I've fastened it with cable ties for now.....
2) Flashing odometer - I read a couple of posts that indicate this may be related to the window unit or that a reset of the ECU may help.
3) VDC error, EDB error and ABS error on cornering after slowing from between 40 to 60 mph - The archives have been very useful so far! The battery is the orignal alfa one so I will check that out and clean the harness up to start with. I've only seen it the once so far and I've done 250 miles in the last week with it. It went away after a restart.
4) Need to get a battery fuse box cover. My mate suggested EB spares.
