Hi, I'm new here, but used to be on alfa156.net years ago when I had 3 156's including the V6 on the 'sofa' lusso suspension
(what's happened to that site? it used to be quite busy but it's dead now)
Anyway, I'm loving the my GT V6, but as usual with Alfa's there's a few niggles, much like other cars I've owned but for some reason I always want my Alfa's to be the best they can, where as with the other makes I don't really bother and just drive them till something breaks
1st problem was the creaky hatch, which was an easy fix by just adjusting the black rubber stoppers? at the base. Seams they were stopping it from clicking in the catch correctly.
2nd is the gearshift. It has a very long throw and is very loose in operation. It goes into gear easily, but I'd like it much tighter and a shorter throw if possible. Is there any mod I can do to remedy this?
3rd is the exhaust. The middle section has been bodged up, it doesn't blow yet but I would like to know if there's a cheap mid section out there that sounds a bit more raspy? The exhaust is standard as far as the garage were concerned.
I plan to get the more labour intensive jobs out of the way 1st, which will include painting the engine bay ( a must) and also sorting the headlights by painting the back plates black to look more like the blackline. Whilst the bumpers off I'll be looking to change all the bulbs for uprated ones as well.
Sorry for the long 1st post. Any help would be appreciated as these cars get under your skin a little....
