advice please on Jtd 16v
I have a 2005 1.9 jtd 16v and the cambelt slipped last week. I have reset the belt, it was about 3 teeth out, but she still won't start, so there is damage to the rockers I would imagine.
This car has been no end of problems to me, mainly due to poor maintainer by a so called specialist in Oxford. To give an example: they changed the power steering pipes, but didn't remove the subframe. This meant that the pipes weren't routed properly and rubbed against other pipes, causing both sets to wear through. They also changed the cambelt about 20k ago and this would only slip if not fitted properly.
Anyway rant over, can anybody advise me the best course of action now? The garage recon it could be up to about 2k to put right, I can get a replacement head for about £200, or a replacement engine for about £400 or just burn it lol
