Welcome........Selespeeds can be perfect, or troublesome, although the issues are usually electrical rather than the gearbox itself. The engine needs servicing properly, particularly with regard to belt changes, and the 147 (and GT and 156) front suspension are well known for wearing and getting noisy - but they are still a good car with plenty of character. 147 feels fresher than the 156 - though I have both

On my car fortunately the belt has just been changed. No funny noises on the suspension .However i have a small worry because under hard acceleration it releases a light black smoke.i was worried n talked to the alfa mechanic .He said that its because engine was not hot enough so if rings havent expanded i could see smoke n it would disappear once reaches operating temp.but it was the same as soon as the niddle was in the middle. Another guy told me that fuel injectors may be dirty. There was some one else who said the lambda sensor is gone wrong.but there is no error sign whatsoever on the dash.
need your advise guys !!!! Tnx

Black smoke is due to over-fueling. If the engine is under 70C it will run richer and hard acceleration will cause black smoke. If it does it continuously it is best to check if MAF and/or lambda is working properly
