Interesting. Ive managed to get one out the top with one mount still atrached on the cambelt side.
Anyway glad you did it. It can be easier to remove the fan on the radiator but to be honest I never bother.
The coolant pipes can bend they are only rubber. The engine needs a bit of tilting yes but ive never had too many issues. Then again ive not cared much for the air con pipes as I never use it anyway so removed them from my car.
But generally you can get a complete engine and gearbox out the top.
But it does need tilting a bit. Eg the cambelt side of the engine needs to come out first. Remove bonnet obviously and then the gearbox bit at a diagonal angle.
