Best place to source clutch kit

It appears that i may have to get a new clutch kit soon for my x reg 2000 1.8 156. Is it going to be cheaper for me to source the kit and find a mechanic willing to fit it. I have been told it takes around 6 hours to change. I have been quoted 440 to supply and fit. Has anyone recently had a new clutch and how much did it cost you?

Re: Best place to source clutch kit

Clutches are around £150-ish so factor in their hourly rate from that. It is a fairly involved job from what I've read.

You might want to consider getting the slave cylinder replaced at the same time.

hi, its about a year since i did mine, the clutch cost me £80 and cylinder £40 both LUK, fitted it myself in about 5hrs, so makes your quote very dear.
