Re: Wiper issues on a 147
Hi Probusterrace, I'd sent you an e-mail. Only 2 comments on those instructions. I found the torx screws were T20, not T25.
Also I found that the plastic covers on the wiper arms can be removed completely (withouth necessarily breaking them!). They actually just clip to the hinge part, and by pulling them carefully away from the hinge part in the direction of the arm (towards the nut) you can unclip them, thus avoiding damaging them.
Unfortunately I realise this only after I had already damaged my driver side one by stupidly closing the bonnet when the plastic cover was raised! Doh! Mind you I guess I might not have realised they could be removed otherwise! Still it's not too badly damage, it still clips in and is stable, it just looks a bit rubbish if you look carefully.
I didn't us a wiper removal tool in the end, managed just about without it but I can see why it would have been useful.
Thanks again for all your help.
Just out of interest BCSS147, where was your quote from? Did that included VAT and postage? And was that for the original part or for the updated version that the stealer told me about? The EBS spares one is £95 +VAT +Postage, and says it has been reinforced, but actually looks exactly like the one I removed.
