156 2.5 Radiator Fan Resistor
I replaced the radiator in my 156 last weekend (hat tip to member Chris for his instructions). All went well, except that one of the male spade terminals to the lower resistor on the fan motor assembly disintegrated. I ran the engine up until the fans cut in and only the nearside fan is working. The resistor looks the same as the upper one and also the same as the one on my wife's 147, but EPER suggests I'm suffering from wishful thinking.
According to EPER, the two resistors are different. One is part number 51736821 and the other has been various part numbers, but currently appears to be 60692416. What I can't determine from EPER is which of these is the upper and which is the lower. Both are available new from Ebay, but are quite expensive - about £40 for the former and a little over £50 for the latter, delivered.
Can someone confirm the part number for me? Is it worth trying to repair it or looking for a used one? I can get the whole fan assembly used on Ebay for under £30.
