well after my mint moon blue GT jts 2.0 was destroyed in our work car park on saturday I got online to look for a replacement..
its been a hard task as the car only had 40k on it and low mileage petrols are thin on the ground...so..after seriously considering a 3.2 V6 and a very low mileage Audi tt coupe...
I decided to plump for a diesel instead, went down to the dealer where the car was located and took it for a good test drive.
wow!..coming from the JTS the diesel lump is a revelation...really torquey and overall feels like a faster car, more planted on the road and ''solid'' is the only description, on paper the JTS with its claimed 165BHP has it but in real life the jtdm is a winner feels more than the 150BHP claimed, cant wait to get down to autolusso for a remap and egr delete....!
an upgraded clutch and q2 is on the list as well if £ allows.
i'm also looking forward to visiting the petrol station a lot less as I have heard quoted mileage from some on here at 600 miles on a full tank.
the JTS gets much less as you are really pushing the engine to high revs to feel any torque at all. in real world terms I think I was getting around 30mpg but as advertised I am a ''spirited driver''...
the interior spec of the blackline is lovely although not as bright as my light grey leather on the previous car, i'm sure though I will enjoy the Bose soundsystem and once the parrot from my old car is fitted I will be right at home.
dealer will be servicing the car this week including cambelt, alll fluids and brake pads.
they will also refurb the alloys.
I will be picking up my fully valeted and serviced 07 blackline on saturday morning.
BMW hire car untl then...
actually a good point, the bmw diesel sound like a flippin tractor...
the alfa? alright its not a petrol but very pleasing and surprisingly growly for what it is.
a great compromise between performance and economy...style.. it has bags of it and I am very pleased I didn't go for the brera, and I should have got the diesel for the start.
