GT started to hold back on Monday, so i booked it into Guests for Thursday - had a similar problem before just needed an ignition coil replaced under warranty.
Anyway out yesterday & today on appointments nothing special, but noticed a clunk from the steering occasionally, thought nothing of it and will mention it on thursday to Guests. Turning right into a junction on the way home tonight loud clunk from the steering, got onto the motorway I noticed that the bottom stem of the steering wheel which normally points at 6 o'clock when driving straight was at 7 o'clock
so i called Guests to see if I could bring it in tonight instead of tomorrow, then the VDC system failure light comes on, so i coax it to Soluhull, pull into the compound at the back, park up turn the wheel again its really sloppy, get it booked in and the service guy comes out to take a look, turns the wheel, I am outside the car and the wheels dont move
looking through the spokes on the drivers side and the track rod end has snapped !!!!!
How lucky/unlucky is that.
Warranty will cover it but it looks like I will have to attend the Peak Alfa day in either a Punto or a Rav4 (wrinx is that allowed or will i be cast out?)
