Should I or shouldnt I???
I'm dithering a bit here and need some sensible, impartial advice.
I bought a new 147 about 3.5 years ago and was very happy with it, it was my pride and joy. However about 6 months ago, it was coming up to a big service and the warranty was running out etc - so I thought it was time for a change.
I'd never owned a diesel, but took out a 147 MJET as a courtesy car once and thought it was great - so I fancied trying one of those. To cut a long story short, I couldn’t afford one - but the local dealer was doing an offer on the new Fiat Stilo MJET 150 (same engine as the 147) so I went for one of those instead.
So, I’ve had this Stilo for about 6 months now and covered just under 8k miles. it’s a great car and hasn’t missed a beat, but…….it hasn’t got hat Alfa ‘thing’. I’ve now come to appreciate the ‘Alfa’s have soul’ thing, and I really miss it. So much so that I am seriously contemplating partex’ing the Stilo for an older 156.
If I do this, I’d be giving up the warranty, peace of mind of a new car etc - not to mention taking a sizeable depreciation hit.
According to Glass’s Guide the best trade in price I could get for the Stilo would be about £7,500 - would his get me a decent 156 do you think? Or should I just stick with it for another few years and learn from my mistake?
Could someone please offer some impartial advice?
Thanks in advance!
