Hi guys im after a 156 jtd air box for my 156 1.9 jtd. A few months ago i broke down due to the tuning box failing. Since the AA removed the box the car has been low on power.

it currently has a induction thing on it thats pants and keeps throwing up air flow fault.

There car has had a new lower turbo pipe and i followed the guide on how to clean the egr valve but made now difference. fantastic guide wouldnt have even know where to begin. the car has also had a new ent? valve and those small turbo hoses replaced.

I took the car into neil (top bloke) at auto italiautoparts and he connected it up to diagnostics and it showed same air flow fault, so doing the process of elimination he tested the egr valve on computer and showed to be working, tested ent valve and showed to be working, swopped the maf and unfortunately made no difference but ruled out the maf. So we think its a air leak and probably the crappy air intake box but i couldnt leave the car as i need it for my daily commute. The air box that is on is like a cda one if that makes sence. I had been flat out working (retail) with xmas and jan sale and this afternoon is the first time i have had a quick look. Not that i really understand turbos and know what im looking at

one thing i noticed right at the bottom there is no pipe out of the intercooler (the big upper turbo pipe from the engine goes down to the front light area and im assuming it goes into the intercooler?)
looking at the otherside of the intercooler? there is no pipe coming out, would this make a difference? im assuming that pipe would go into the original o.e airbox.

would this cause a power loss?

The cars going back into neil later this month and would like to have the airbox ready. The current air intake cone isnt sealed so I would like to replace with o.e incase i hit a large puddle, so if anyone is selling a replacement please pm me

many thanks kind regards Jon :)

Theres only 2 pipes that come from the intercooler. The top one, which you can see when you open the bonnet (If memory serves, last time I saw yours it had a repair on it) and the bottom one which you said has recently been replaced. If the bottom one was missing you'd know as there would be lots of black smoke and a very loud SSSHHHHHHH noise.

Hi tom, what happened to that beer I'm alway thirsty :) the 916 section are arranging a alfa track day in May if you fancy it,

Thanks for that, the part that doesn't have a pipe must be where the original air intake box bit goes in the air box so I don't think this would cause it then.

I got a new upper hose too so a little stumped and fitted those new ent pipes you gave me.

It's still going ok for work just takes a long time to build up, Leaving this one to experts as plenty of play todo with the v6 project.

thanks will do:)

also i read the codes again to night and nothing new "air quality"

the only thing that was odd was i checking through the actuators and when i reved the engine checking the egr and boost control solenoid they moved up and down etc.

but when i click on

"inlet circ. throttle solenoid valve" (in actuators)

it just shows 1% all the time, it doesnt move when i rev or drive the 156 forward.

is this normal??
