Happy New Coolant all over the drive
Suspected coolant might be leaking over past few days. This morning checked car before setting off to find reservoir almost totally empty.
Looked under the bonnet and found coolant sitting on top of the air filter housing, and spattered into the air pipe and the coolant pipe that goes to the 'stat.
Cleaned it all up, and removed that coolant pipe because it looked as if the likely leak might be emanating from the top end of it – it looked as if it wasn't fully pushed onto the rad housing (there's a little 'nub' to push it onto). Removed it, cleaned it and checked it. No nicks or other obvious damage. Refitted.
Took out for a quick run to get it up to temp and when home coolant was down again. Once again, coolant is sitting on top of the air filter housing, and spattered into the air pipe and the coolant pipe.
Ran the engine, bonnet up, with someone on the throttle....trying to get it to temp again. Could see no leaks occurring on the drive, at the top.
The bottom is dripping but impossible to tell where from.
Will keep trying to find the leak....
Rad is only 2 or 3 years old, I think. Will check that. It looks OK.
