Re: anything i can do to improve fuel efficiency??
There was an interesting article in autoexpress last week, with a professor type bloke claiming the most fuel efficient way to drive a modern petrol engine was to floor it,
accelerating, floor the throttle until 2000rpm, change up, floor the throttle until 2000rpm, change up, etc.
to maintain a steady(ish) speed, accelerate as above until you reach the desired speed, lift off, when you slow down too much floor it, reach speed, lift off, etc.
The basic principle -from memory- is that at full throttle the ECU will deliver the correct amount of fuel needed (ie. no over-fueling) while maximising air intake, and avoiding significant increases in friction over 2000rpm
They tested it out and did seem to get improvements, 10mpg IIRC
sorry for not being very in-depth, but I didn't pay much attention to it, having a diesel n'all.
