Abs/asr intermitant fault?

My 147 abs/asr lights come on when I drive at 40mph+ But resets once the engine is turned off. I don't know much about cars so I'm just asking whether anyone knows if this is a common fault for these cars or whether it will be a big or small job to repair? I'm hoping it's just a faulty sensor but I really don't have a clue. Any help appreciated, thanks.

This fault can quite often be caused by the brake light switch, which operates off the brake pedal. Do a search on here for more info, but it's a cheap and quick fix. Mine was doing this when I got it, the error came up when I pressed the brake pedal but was intermittent.

Otherwise take it to an Alfa specialist to get the fault code read. This should point to the exact problem....

Could be one of the sensor wires shorting out onto a suspension component when airflow at higher speeds moves it around?
