Rear badge snapped off. How to replace?

Hi all,

Long time reader, first time poster.

I have a 2001 147. My friend, thinking it was a lever to pop the boot, pulled the rear badge straight up (rather than swiveling it) and of course snapped it clean off. See attached photo!

I know my nearby breakers will have the parts, but I can't seem to figure out how to replace the whole swivel piece.

Can anybody share some thoughts?

I've read the various threads about replacing the rear badge, but that doesn't seem to be quite the same thing.

I'd be happy to write a 'how-to' guide if I can get this done.

Thanks very much!

A replacement rear badge will be the whole swivel piece, so the same job.

UNLESS you are looking at guides for later cars without key locks in the boot (which don't have rotating badges).

The swivel badge is just a badge mounted on the post which it swivels on, which in turn is secured through the lock mounting with a small C-clip on the inside. Access to this clip, (having removed the interior trim panel) isn't the easiest, and its easy when removing the clip, for it to get "pinged" into the interior of the tailgate and lost. Its not too much of a problem, really, as even without the clip the badge is a fairly tight fit and is unlikely to fall out without significant "assistance".......
