Suspension wise, the wishbones don't have separate ball-joints, so a failed ball-joint means a new wishbone.
Cheap copies are available, but often (ie usually!) very poor quality and don't last long.
The bushes aren't available separately either unless you do for Powerflex etc..
(one bush in the rear suspension is separate as OEM, but that is the exception).
Other that that, cost of most things are comparable, but remember that the TS Petrol engines have eight sparkplugs (NGK Platinum ones, but they do last 5-years/60000miles).
Re the rust, don't be afraid to have a good firm prod under any cars you look at. Many will be OK, but many others have rust hiding above the thin coating of underseal.
It is a shame to bring up the stereo-type of the rust issue, but it can't ignored.
