Alfa gt rear seat catch not working

Hello all,

Just back from last minute Christmas shopping and the larger part of the rear seat on my 08 Gt won't fully click back, it's not being fouled by anything I can see. It clicks back in part and holds like that but not fully. It's most frustrating! The smaller half of the seat works fine as I'm used to.

Searched on here but can only find reference to pushing or hitting it harder or the seat belt being in the way, neither are solutions seemingly for me.

Any ideas?

Many thanks,

I had this problem. Fixed it by cutting a bit off the little rubber bump stop on the back of the seat. Seems this was stopping the seat going back far enough to latch properly. It's not very obvious, part of the latch mechanism, a small bit of hard rubber on the outside edge of the latch, 10mm x 15mm or so. Bumps against the locking hoop fixed to the body.

This was a 147, don't know if it's different on the GT.

Make sure the seat belt has enough slack. Sometimes the 'black button' goes inside the slot and stops it being able to go back properly.

Have you tried slamming it? I have to give mine a good slam to get them to lock in.
