Re: Changing my 147 Head Unit
Cheers for the pointers guys. I'm not after amps, phone kits and accessories, I just want something that sounds good enough, lets me plug the MP3 player in and lets me use the steering wheel controls.
I was hoping to not have to pay £50 for a wire to get the controls to work, but I suppose I'm stuffed without it so car stereo companies have the monopoly.
Rathkennades: My stereo is one of the ones that doesn't like the changer connection. Some 147 head units work, some don't and guess what I've got? I plug the Aux in line into the CDC connector, press 'source' a few times and nothing. Tried the shorting trick with the 2 pins and get the same result.
I suppose another option would be to keep an eye on fleabay for another standard Alfa headunit to replace mine and hope the CDC connection works.
