Re: V6 aircon pump.
So the car is working again? Did I miss that post?
Is the pump making a noise when the aircon is not engaged? If it is then it has to go or be replaced as it could be the main bearing and if that gets wobbly you could end up with a wearing aux belt. If not then just leave the aircon off and the pump clutch won`t engage. That way it is less messing about than finding a shorter belt and still no drain on the engine power. You can ensure it doesn`t turn on with some combination of button pushes but I can`t remember them so if it annoys you, yank the fuse.
A 2nd hand pump will be much cheaper btw, and well worth the risk. They are reasonably accessible to change yourself (note I said *reasonably*).
To answer the question, yes you will still get heat but you will surprised at how stuffy the car gets. For some reason these cars are impossible to ventilate properly without aircon, they just blow air about ineffectively.
