Getting off the line quick with a 2.4 JTD
Just wondering if I'm the only one that has trouble getting the 156 to go a decent standing start.
I find that once it is going, it is fine, but if I want to pull out quickly at a roundabout it is hopeless. Other gear changes are fine, just the get moving in 1st that causes me trouble.
The only way I can do it, is to get the revs up before I start to come off the clutch. But then sometimes I just want to be able to pull away fairly quick without having to plan ahead.
At the moment, I reckon I can get away faster in our Espace diesel or 406 diesel.
Typically, I can floor the pedal as I start to come off the clutch, but the revs don't go shooting up, just gradually start to climb as I get to the end of lifing off the clutch.
Is this anything to do with the the fact that there is no throttle cable and the ECU is being clever, or am I missing something here ?
