Help Over heating

Hi, can anyone help me????

My ca keeps over heating and chucking all the water out of the water bottle.....

I assume it's probably the head gasket that has gone but was wondering before I went to a lot of expense whether or not anyone else had any other ideas as to what could cause this?????

Many Thanks

Re: Over heating

Hi ya,

Sounds like head gasket, but the best way to know for sure is to have a block test done, this will show if any exhaust gases are in the coolant.
Most garages should be able to do this for you. Or you might be able to buy the kit yourself but not sure on price.

Hope this helps
Sorry its bad news.

Re: Over heating

You never know your luck, you may just have a shagged radiator. They tend to go after about 4-5 years on average. Have a look at he bottom of yours (on your hands and knees) and poke the fins with a screwdriver. If they are not solidly connected to the struts of the rad or if they are flakey or fall out then it is rad change time. Not a difficult job.

Can you give better symptoms of when it happens?
