Valeo is the best quality and not very expensive
There's something I never expected to read, thermostats are ridiculously expensive nowadays, I hesitate to go of into an old f4rt...... I remember when you could buy.....rant, but hells teeth, be lucky to get one for the JTD for under £50.
Mine was a Facet from Alternative Autos, rock solid at 90 degrees for nearly 2 years, takes a while to get there...but that's oil burners for you.
Watch the 'O' ring when fitting the new thermostat, mine dropped off as I offered it up to the head, I never saw it again and had to use the old one, maybe just the lightest smear of something to hold it in place. Red rubber grease if you have it as a petroleum based grease could damage the ring in time.
Loose - not close, compact, or tight in structure or arrangement
Lose - to part with or come to be without, as through theft, accident, negligence, etc.
