First of all, is there an AUX input so i can connect my mp3 player into the sound system?
Nope. Don't think so, although my iPod is connected through the CD changer connector.
I have obtained a few quotes on the 147 with £1200 being the cheapest. Are 147's really that expensive to insure?
I'm 34 with 6 yrs NCB, 1 non-fault claim in past 5 years and 3 points. My cheapest is just over £400, although I do have to park on the street. As with Decky i've got a 2lt TS.
Compared to my current car (96 1.5 323F DOHC) will the 1.6 Tspark be faster?
Not a clue. Sorry.
What kind of mpg could i expect form driving it easy, medium journeys in the suburbs?
Lots of threads deal with MPG question. Expect 30 +/- a couple of miles for a 2lt and IIRC people suggest approx 36 for a 1.6. Worth searching to confirm that though!
I've had a look through the forums and Ive seen that the main things to watch for when buying these cars are to check the oil level, that its been regualry serviced and has had it cambelt changed. Also the suspension must be checked and check for wet carpets around the boot and make sure i get the 2 keys(this seems to be really emphasised but dont know why!).
Keys are expensive to get re-programmed, hence the importance of getting the full set. Not sure there's anything else to it than that.
Wet carpets around the boot is a new one to me.
, although I have had a wet passenger footwell once and a few other niggles..
Go for Lusso spec (Audio controls on steering well, Dual Zone Climate Control , VDC as standard (waits to be corrected!) etc ....... List of extras well worth having.
Thanks for your help, im looking forward to becoming an Alfa owner and an active member of the forum!
Good stuff. Welcome to AO.
