GT Spongy Brake Pedal - Vacuum in the Reservoir?
I've noticed my brake pedal going spongy a little about three weeks ago so I took off the reservoir cap and there was a vacuum. The fluid level looked OK so I put the cap back on. The pedal was no longer spongy and all seemed fine. I'd had all the wheels off days beforehand to check for suspension bolts and bushes (it clunks a little) and did not notice any fluid leak so I immediately thought master cylinder.
Fast forward to this weekend and it happened again, same thing open the cap this morning when I arrived at work and a vacuum, this time I can see a little fluid loss (will top up later) but today at lunchtime the brakes are solid again.
There's obviously a leak and it may have just started on a calliper but I missed it, it being such a small amount at that time or just beginning. I'm going to check this Friday properly but any suggestion prior would be a great help.
Any ideas as I have never in my 30+ years come across this before?
Priorities I find, are usually someone else's.
Statements above are all my own opinion and not fact.
