Finally managed to get my remote locking back after weeks of getting frustrated with it.
I bought the 156 some week ago but a previous owner had for some reason removed the circuit boards from both keys,
I bought an after market universal locking unit from ebay to sort this out.
The unit I bought came with 2 flip key blanks which of corse were the wrong profile for my keys so I couldn't get them cut, The answer to that problem was to remove the blades from the new keys vandalise 1 of my alfas red keys and with a little engineering know how machine the alfa key to fit into the flip blades fixing. (job done in 10 mins with a file and bench grinder)
Next was to work out where in the car to connect the receiver unit.
I figured that I should be able to simply splice the unit into the existing receivers wiring in the boot i.e connect it to modual M35 next to the boot light, this was done fairly easily with the aid of scotch locks and All works great, No flash from the inicators but thats not a concern so Job done.
Now I wont have problems with the lock freezing again as it did last week forcing me to walk round to open from the passenger side instead which is too much effort on a cold morning(it's a long bonnet you know)
