GT EGR/turbo hose query
Having spent three years regretting my decision to sell my beloved 156, I rectified my mistake last month by buying a GT. When I bought the car, the engine management light was on and I got the motor control system failure warning message; however, I decided to take a chance in the hope it was something minor, as the car drove well.
A couple of weeks ago, my brother-in-law hooked up the diagnostics kit, which indicated that there was an issue with the EGR valve. He reset the warning light and I've just been waiting for an opportunity for him to clean it for me (the light came back on after a couple of journeys).
This weekend, the lower turbo hose split, so I had it replaced at a local garage. Since this repair, the engine management light and MCSF warnings have disappeared.
Is it possible that the EGR code was being generated by a developing issue with the turbo hose? And if so, can I be confident that the EGR is ok as it is, or should I still try and get it looked at?
Hope this makes sense...
