And I don't drive economically. I'm not sure how you calculated your figures. Check your math.

I can tell you.
Overall my mpg is 30 (Look at fuelly)

For two years it was closer to 28 (City Driving only)
For the last 6 months its been motorway = 36mpg

Then i've changed to lpg (Gets less mpg) = 28.8mpg average (Last 6 fill ups)

But its 52p a litre. Or 43.4% of Petrol. Or 42% of diesel.
Which really means for the same cost vs a diesel I'd need a diesel that would do 68.5mpg to break even.

This is only a recent thing though.

But yes Fuel is a big factor.
Before I used to do 12'000miles City @ peak times.
now I do 16'000 miles Motorway @ Peak times.

Because of the cost of even petrol between the two and the average mpg. The cost was very very similar. So when i moved house. The cost i never really felt because of the increased mpg. Tyres last longer. Brake pads last longer. But then again I need a cambelt more often.

So fuel cost per mile will come down considerably as time goes on.

The equivalent diesel same journey should ideally do about 45mpg.

Mpg is only relevant based on the mileage and type of journey you do.
Cost over time is probably more significant.
Ah yes, I'm used to km not miles and I counted 25000 km not miles my bad.
And how good is LPG for your engines life? From what I know gas is very dry and doesen't lubrificate the engine properly.

Everyone needs lube.

Alfas engines don't need the extra lube as they are built for lean burn anyway.
but yes exhaust gas will be hotter. Doubt id need cat covertors any more either running lpg. But they are there anyway.

Some ways its cleaner as theres no bore wash from oetrol so oil stays cleaner. Other side is less lube.

Only time will tell I guess.

I cant make any statements as I don't know. I imagine coils and sparks will not last as long.

but I keep ligs of everything so ill give the good people here an update.
However lits of ts engines have been gassed and same with bussos with excellent results.
