Thermostat valve or temperature sensor?
All right, now with the cold weather is coming I noticed that my engine doesn't heat at it's normal temperature, remains at 70-80 degrees as is displayed on my dash.
So is the thermostat broken or the sensor that reads the temperature?
-the thermostat seems that it opens at around 70 degrees(pipes get hot just after 70 degrees)
-why I suspect the sensor is because I noticed that I was traveling and the outside temperature was growing with 3 degrees, the temperature on my dash was growing the same..
I would save few pounds if just the sensor is broken..
If I could test the sensor to check it's resistance at a known temperature I would know if it is broken or not..
Can someone help me with the sensor resistance according to temperature diagram? Or If someone could measure it at a known outside temperature between 0-5 degrees? I would be grateful!
