What Temp??

HI All Can anyone tell me what temp a 1.8 t/spark is supposed to run at ?.I have recently put a new radiator on ,and ever since it runs well below70 degrees ,I am told that it should run at at around 90 .what could be causing this other than the thermostat??

Re: What Temp??

Why do you say other than the thermostat, is there any particular reason? I only ask because it is almost certainly the thermostat.

Re: What Temp??

I found that when the rad was replaced on my 2.0 the temp held at 70 degrees. A new thermostat fixed it. To help the speed of replacement also buy a new temperature sensor. It bolts into the thermostat and the old one will probably be scaled up quite badly. My guide to removal and replacement process is here.

yep, should be close to 90degC ALL the time once warmed up.

You need a new thermostat.
