156 20v keeps blowing fuel pipes! HELP!
I've had my 2.4 20v for about 6 months now but its developed a major problem.
The steel fuel line which runs from the fuel pump to the fuel rail keeps blowing. This will be the third time ive replaced it and its always the seal that goes where it screws onto the fuel pump itself.
Each new pipe has lasted approximately a month before they go again. I've done a diagnostic and its come up with error code P1191 - Fuel pressure switch - FATAL
From what I've read the code can point to a few different things. But something is causing the fuel pressure to go stupidly high and repeatedly blowing this fuel line.
the only pattern I've noticed is that it seems to do it when the fuel light is on.
Any ideas anyone?
I'm thinking either blocked fuel return, pressure regulator or faulty pump.
But if it was a blocked return then surely it wouldn't last a month at a time.
