Re: Got the remap and CDA fitted
OK guys here's my two penneth
Nigel from Angel came to see me today, I had a remap but no CDA as I wanted to keep the engine bay looking standard for now.
I have a CSC backbox and an Autodelta panel filter, so the car is pretty much standard.
Anyway, the results of my by-no-means exhaustive road-test (ie a blast up and down the by-pass) are as follows:
The power increase (quoted as 12bhp, not sure if this is at the flywheel or on the road) is subtle but definitely noticible, the car pulls well up to the redline, certainly around 10 percent quicker than before.
What is most noticeable is that the car is more tractable, ie in a situation where you are negotiating, say, a roundabout or junction in second, around 20mph, well now you can smoothly do that in third, the car will pull away more strongly from around 2k revs in the higher gear. This of course is down to the increase in torque low down.
I am away now for a couple of weeks but will report back again when i've done some longer journeys. I'm sure that the differences in power and torque will make themselves known on an 'A'/'B' road blast.
Nigel is a thoroughly nice bloke with an obvious enthusiasm for Alfas and Fiats.
