Re: ***** code (no code with car)
errrm - forgive me if i'm wrong, but I'm sure that you'll need to take the car to the dealer/specialist in order for them to reprogram the key - and this does cost around £80. You can't even get a radio code over the phone these days! you need to physically go in and produce 2 items of ID and vehicle registration form (and they'll charge you £30 for the privelege).
Cam belt change can be costly even from an independant. You'll struggle to get it done for less than £600 because while they're at it, they may as well change the tensioners, spark plugs (aren't these about £18 each x 6?) and the water pump (if it still has the old one with the plastic impeller).
Yes these cars can be expensive to run, but what other £20K+ car can you buy 7 years later for less than £3K?? Believe me, it's worth it!
