Hi everyone...well its that time of year again, when the heavy thump of the insurance quotation has dropped through my letter box inviting me to part with my hard earned cash....but this year rather than go with the quotation automatically ( yes I know I should shop around but the company I use Confused.com do actually in the main come up trumps) I thought I would ask you for advice...who do you use? are there any specialist insurers out there who can cover these precious vehicles at a reasonable fee and still ensure I can feed the family an cat.
Hope you can help...oh yes...Alfa 156 1.8 TS Veloce
Gosh that was quick...thanks for the leads I will follow them up....fortunately I have not been quoted anything like Ad's price...but for a 40 something bloke with at least 6 years no claims I should be doing better than £480.00
I wish I got quoted £350 lol! I mean for someone with 6 years no claims and experience I would expect around the 350 - 375 mark from e-car! Its just because I'm young and they hate the thought of me having fun! Screw them!
try the banks for insurance.Halifax and lloyds they are quite cheap. If any does try confused.com , get a quote then go direct to the insurer and do a quote there, usually cheaper for some reason then confused.com
I use Frizzell (a division of Liverpool & Victoria) and I have found they have always beaten Confused.com, etc. for price and given me a lower deductible, hire car, european cover. etc. They have also been great in terms of customer service when I have had to claim. (Was rear ended but an uninsured youngster in a Fiesta recently.) They also were very accommodating when I moved from Canada in terms of substantiating my no claims bonus and insuring a LHD car! Only issue is that they are a "member" based - however, I joined the CSMA for about £30 and saved at least £250.
Mojo jojo, been there done that! Had two small cars, the last one I had (fiat x1/9 1300) was £1000 on insurance for the year so I just thought whats an extra 400 for such a nice car? If you work hard enough you can reap the benefits, not paying insurance is just crazy! I live for cars so I don't mind chucking money at them
